Liana Martinez is a Social Studies Specialist at Region One Education Service Center in Edinburg, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Social Studies and English/Language Arts from Texas State University-San Marcos. She then graduated from Walden University with a Master of Education in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in 2013. Liana has nine years of service in the roles of secondary social studies teacher, department chair, colorguard sponsor, and a member of her district’s curriculum writing team. She is passionate about student success and promoting life-long learning for all.  She loves history and hopes that students will see the relevance of the past in today’s world.  In her current role as a Social Studies Specialist, she strives to serve and assist local educators in their endeavor to create critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and contributing citizens of society. Her hobbies include: traveling, jogging, and watching comedies. Her favorite superhero is Superman.
