MAGGIE OJEDA

LEARNING RESOURCE INTEGRATION SPECIALIST

Gustavo joined the Region One family to assist in bringing the STEM experience to every child across the Rio Grande Valley. With a background as an engineer with Austin chipmakers, Gustavo brings a world of practical knowledge to every classroom, inspiring educators to consider new and innovative instructional models such as project based learning. From exploring wind energy to building robots, his educator's eye is always on the look out for new and innovative tools to spark interest in STEM career pathways. Favorite Superheroes:

Captain Cave Man and Dr. John McBride (UTPA). 

Magdalena Ojeda grew up between Edinburg and Littlefield Texas as a migrant most of her life and along this journey she picked up the nickname “Maggie”.   Throughout her public school education she became involved in TRIO programs which opened her eyes to the world of college and subsequently became the first in her family to attend college and obtain a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies emphasis in Early Childhood and Reading degree from Texas A& M Kingsville.  She then moved into a MEd in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas- Pan American.   Over the last fifteen years of service in education she has held  served in the roles of Max Tech Target/ Intel teacher, District level Technology Integration Specialist , College Readiness Supervisor/AVID Director, District Language Arts Coordinator.  She is currently a Learning Resources Integration Specialist at Region One ESC.  Maggie is deeply committed in the quest toward the integration of content, pedagogy, and technology knowledge as well as addressing and bridging the digital divide.  Magdalena Ojeda loves learning spaces where communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity can grow and flourish.  Her hobbies include journaling, singing, reading, DIYing, and playing with Apps.  Favorite Superheroes:  She-Ra and Maria DeLosSantos (her mother).
